FAQs (frequently asked questions)
1. What are your candles made from?
Our candles are crafted from a proprietary blend of natural coconut and soy wax, combined with premium fragrance oils and lead-free cotton wicks to deliver a clean, eco-friendly burn.
2. Are your candles non-toxic?
We use natural plant-based waxes and high-quality fragrance oils designed for burning and specially formulated for optimal scent release. Our wicks are crafted free from lead and zinc.
3. How long do your candles burn?
Burn time varies by size and candle care. On average:
4 oz tin candles burn for approx. 20-22 hours
7cl candles burn for approx. 18 hours
30cl candles burn for approx. 30-32 hours
Proper wick trimming and mindful burn practices help maximise your candle's lifespan. Avoid continuous burning (also known as 'power burning'), as it can reduce overall burn time.
4. Why is my candle tunnelling or burning unevenly?
Tunnelling occurs when the wax fails to melt all the way to the edges of the vessel. To ensure an even, clean burn, allow your candle to burn for 2–3 hours during the first use, just long enough for the wax to form a full, edge-to-edge melt pool. This simple step helps preserve the candle’s beauty and performance
5. How do I properly care for my candle?
Allow the candle to cool and fully solidify between burns. Before each use, trim the wick to approximately 5mm - or gently pinch away any blackened tip with your fingers. Be sure to wash your hands afterwards
Let the wax melt fully across the surface before extinguishing
Burn for no more than 3 hours at a time
Keep away from drafts, pets, and children
Avoid moving the candle whilst the wax is still melted, as this may lead to accidental spills. Please also take care, as the vessel may be hot to the touch
6. Why isn't the scent strong enough / too strong?
Scent strength is influenced by factors such as room size, airflow, and the scale of the candle. Our 30cl candles are well-suited for larger spaces, whilst the 7cl glass and 4oz tin candles offer the perfect fragrance balance for more intimate settings.
7. Can I reuse the candle jar?
Absolutely. Once your candle has fully burned, remove the wick and wipe away any remaining wax. Clean the vessel thoroughly with warm water and a mild detergent. Designed with versatility in mind, our candle vessels can be beautifully repurposed as chic planters, elegant organisers, or refined décor accents. The 30cl clear glass, once carefully cleaned, may even serve as a sophisticated drinking glass.
8. Do you test on animals?
No, we never test our products or ingredients on animals. Our candles are cruelty-free.
9. Are your candles vegan?
Yes! Our wax blend, fragrances, and wicks are all free from animal-derived ingredients.
10. What’s the best way to store candles?
Store your candles in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve their scent and appearance.
11. What are wet spots in candles?
Wet spots are patches where the wax appears to have pulled away from the glass, often creating air pockets. They’re caused by temperature shifts during the cooling process and are very common with natural waxes. Wet spots are purely cosmetic and do not affect the scent, burn, or safety of your candle.
12. What is frosting in a candle?
Frosting is a white, powdery film that can appear on the surface or sides of natural wax candles, especially soy. It’s a natural characteristic of plant-based waxes and a sign your candle is made without synthetic additives. It won’t affect scent or performance.
13. Which courier do you use?
We primarily use Royal Mail and DPD for deliveries, as they offer both reliability and flexibility. Once your order has been dispatched, you'll receive a tracking number so you can monitor your parcel and manage the delivery time to suit your schedule.
